MASSIVE WAREHOUSE CLEAN OUT
WAREHOUSE CLEAN OUT
Warehouse Clean Out of 10 Million Pounds of Abandoned Plastic & Styrofoam
In a 150,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Romeoville, IL sits 10 million pounds of recycled plastic and styrofoam. Originally these materials were meant to be exported to China but now have no place to go. Placing the materials in a landfill would be the easy option, but V2 and Cardinal Recycling Co. have other ideas.
V2 was contracted to remove and source the 10 million pounds of recycled plastics and styrofoam in just 10 weeks.
(Recycled plastic or "PET", which stands for polyethylene terephthalate, is a plastic resin and a form of polyester.)
An estimated 300 semi-trailer truck loads will be required to remove the materials from the warehouse site.
Andre van Vuren and his team from V2 along with consultant, Mike Reinert from Cardinal Recycling Co., are too environmentally focused to simply landfill this material.
Types of Materials Encountered on this Project:
Wood pallets recycled
Plastic pallets recycled
EPS [Styrofoam] densified onsite recycled
PET [reusable plastics] recycled
Special Waste removal by permit
Non recycled items were landfilled
THE V2 SOLUTION
V2 globally sourced recycled plastic (PET) buyers through their dedicated consultants ahead of schedule!
V2 also solved the styrofoam issue by bringing a mobile styrofoam densifying machine. Watch how the video to see how it works!
When V2 was awarded this job our team knew this would be a big undertaking, dealing with many unknowns and a tight deadline.
